LASUTH ARD Hosts Inaugural Treasure Summit:
The Doctor’s Treasure Chest: Investing, Saving, and Growing
The Association of Resident Doctors, Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH ARD), made history on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, by hosting its inaugural Treasure Summit at the LASUTH MRC Auditorium. This groundbreaking event aimed to empower medical professionals with the knowledge and skills to effectively manage their finances, achieve financial goals, and bridge the gap between medicine and informed financial decisions.
With the theme "The Doctor's Treasure Chest: Investing, Saving, and Growing" and sub-theme "Navigating Financial Independence: Tailored Investment Strategies for Healthcare Professionals," the summit attracted a diverse audience of resident doctors and healthcare practitioners eager to gain practical financial knowledge.
The event featured inspiring sessions, including a teaser talk by Dr. Iyke Ukwe and a keynote speech by Mr. Victor F. Adebayo. The panel discussions, led by Dr. Ayomide Oni-Orisan, explored topics such as money management, investments, and creating multiple streams of income for healthcare professionals.
Other highlights included a talk by Ms. Halimat Olumegbon on creating a pathway to sustain financial growth and the summit closed with a "Money Vow" - a symbolic commitment to adopt better financial habits.
The summit was attended by notable figures, including Dr. Alege Taiwo (Mother of the Day) and Dr. Saliu Oseni (Special Guest of the day).
In her remarks, The LASUTH ARD President Dr. Morolayo K. Onamusi commended participants for embracing the vision of holistic development beyond clinical excellence, emphasizing that "a financially empowered doctor is a more effective healthcare provider."

LASUTH ARD President, Dr. Onamusi Morolayo, Appointed Regional Coordinator of South West State-Owned Hospitals' ARD
The Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) has achieved a new milestone as its President, Dr. Onamusi Morolayo K., has been appointed to lead the coordination of the State-Owned Hospitals' Association of Resident Doctors in the South West region.
The appointment was officially announced during the South West Caucus Meeting held in Ekiti State, marking a significant recognition of Dr. Onamusi's leadership capabilities and dedication to the medical community.
This prestigious role places Dr. Onamusi at the forefront of advocacy and representation for resident doctors across the South West region, further strengthening the voice of healthcare professionals in state-owned hospitals.
The LASUTH ARD community extends its heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Onamusi on this remarkable achievement. We are confident in her ability to bring transformative progress to the association and the region at large.

The Presidential Acceptance Speech At The Inauguration Of The Eclat Executives 2024/25
LASUTH-ARD Executive Courtesy Visit to LASUTH Management
On January 17, 2025, Dr. Morolayo Onamusi, President of LASUTH-ARD, led her executive team on a courtesy visit to the LASUTH management. The meeting focused on key issues affecting resident doctors, including:
1. Paediatrics Surgery Call Room Fire Outbreak: Concerns were raised about unresolved power and air conditioning issues following the fire.
2. Power Supply Challenges: Persistent outages disrupting hospital operations were highlighted.
3. Residents’ Quarters: Delays in construction progress prompted a request for clarification on the timeline.
4. MRTF Payments: An appeal was made to expedite the submission of documents to facilitate the 2025 payment process.
Prof. Adebowale Adekoya (DCST) assured the team of the management’s commitment to addressing these concerns, including prioritizing power restoration, engaging with relevant authorities on construction delays, and ensuring the prompt submission of MRTF-related documents.
The meeting concluded with mutual appreciation and a pledge to maintain open communication for the welfare of LASUTH-ARD members.

LASUTH-ARD COURTESY VISIT TO THE MINISTRY OF ESTABLISHMENT, TRAINING, AND PENSIONS
LASUTH ARD President, Dr. Morolayo Onamusi, led the Executive Committee on a courtesy visit to the office of *Mr. Afolabi Ayantayo, the Honorable Commissioner for Establishment, Training, and Pensions on Wednesday 15/01/2025. The visit was aimed at discussing key issues including the 2025 MRTF payments, accoutrement allowance, pensions, and national housing funds.
During the meeting, the LASUTH ARD President began by expressing appreciation to the Honorable Commissioner for his continuous support to the association, particularly in ensuring the prompt payment of the 2024 MRTF as previously agreed.
In his response, the Honorable Commissioner thanked the leadership of LASUTH ARD for their collaborative efforts and pledged to maintain a strong, cooperative relationship moving forward. He also emphasized the importance of non-confrontational dialogue in addressing issues.
Regarding the pension and housing funds, the Commissioner explained that the Ministry of Establishments is currently awaiting feedback from the Ministry of Justice and the Head of Service.
In response, Dr. Onamusi, the LASUTH ARD President, expressed her gratitude once again and emphasized the need for ongoing engagement and an open-door policy for continuous dialogue. She concluded by presenting a souvenir on behalf of the Congress of LASUTH-ARD to the Honorable Commissioner.
Also present at the meeting were the Director of Industrial Relations, Establishments, and the SSA to the Governor on Establishments, Training, and Pension.
The Executive Committee also made a brief stop at the office of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, appreciated her and presented her with a souvenir.
